Virginia Beach, VA

One of the many perks of knowing so many people through the military is that you aren't too far from any of your friends at any particular moment in time. One of our dear friends David - that we met in Florida - is now living in Virginia about 7 hours from us. We had been trying to form a plan to see each other for a few months, when Kevin and David devised a plan to meet half way from where we both live (~3.5 hours each - not too bad). This happened to be Virginia Beach, VA! We got to meet his lovely girlfriend for the first time and sightsee around the area.

Strolling on the beach after dinner...

Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center

First time I have seen a Komodo Dragon in person...they are HUGE!

The photographer said they would photoshop us surfing on a turtle, but once we got up to the kiosk they told us the turtle was "seasonal" and it wasn't currently available. I guess we're surfing inside of a clam shell? Makes total sense...NOT.

Handmade decoys!
