A good ol' American 4th of July BBQ.

We celebrated the 4th of July on Sunday at Linda and Jim's house where every type of gun you could imagine was present; shooting guns on Independence Day seems to be "all-American" doesn't it? Clay pigeons were demolished for several hours, we ate some hamburgers and hotdogs, and finished the evening off with celebrating a birthday. Its so nice to have family local to spend the holidays with, and spending it out in the country made it feel even more traditional.

The one thing Kevin and I appreciate, is having the unique pleasure of being close to the nations capitol on Independence Day for the 3rd time! You can feel the overwhelming patriotic pride in Virginia (as expected), which is a nice change from what we experienced occasionally in New England. Don't get me wrong, there's pride everywhere we've lived, but nothing like here in the south! We'll definitely be watching out for the fireworks tonight (we don't dare go into Washington, D.C., again...what a zoo!) Wherever you are, whatever you do, we wish you all to have a safe, happy, and fun holiday! Happy 4th of July!

Love to you all,
Amelia & Kevin
